UX Design System

Project Overview
As part of an evolving design department, it is critical to document and clearly define design standards. This simplifies design decision making, onboarding of new designers and communication to stakeholders.
My Contributions
I acted as the Design System Manager. I was responsible for designing system components, defining and communicating usage standards to the design / engineering teams. I was also responsible for creating a longterm vision outline the design systems evolution, quarterly strategy planning and communicating that strategy to Executive Leadership.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering Leaders to craft solutions, understand constraints and synchronize work.
  • Collaborate closely with Design to understand design needs and feedback.
  • Evangelize the design system thought the product organization.
  • Craft a product voice, incorporate polish, animations and transitions.
  • Iterate and Evolve!
Design System and Component Library
The Design System consists of three main components. A library of UX guidelines and standards, that are created by the UX Design team, researched, validated and user tested before being finalized. An internal website that shared throughout all product teams, which contains code examples and implementation instructions for developers. Also a component library of design elements constructed in Figma, to be used by designers when prototyping to ensure consistency.
